Year 13 after Noise Appeal was born is now over. It was a tough one (e.g. SKE Fonds money was frozen, and, as you know, every single Euro that comes through subvention or sold records is helping indies like Noise Appeal to survive), but in the end, a great one as well. What was great, you ask? Well, how about all those amazing moments that I experienced with and for the label! Some, I wouldn’t have missed for anything.
In 2016, I released five records or else said, 45 songs by five different bands – Hella Comet, Like Elephants, It’s Everyone Else, Doomina and Couscous (& Boris Hauf), all on vinyl, all pretty and great. My wishes and thanks go out to every single musician I had the pleasure of working with and to every customer, who purchased their records. Thank you and I hope you have an amazing New Year’s and a perfect start of 2017! Remember: it will only become as good as you want it to be, so think positive and try to enjoy your life as much as possible!
Before I end this annual wrap-up, I’d like to take the opportunity to give you a small insight on what I got planned for 2017. I’m very happy to announce that my release schedule is complete and fully booked – another year with five releases by five bands. Which ones exactly? Well, I can’t mention them all right now, but I promise, you won’t be disappointed. The news will be with you as soon as possible, but I can already say that there will be three new acts on the label, two of them are going to be released by spring of 2017. From my existing roster, Ash my Love and Fuckhead will release new and long awaited new records, which were already promised a few times.
But for now, let us celebrate the last moments of 2016, since 2017 will be here in a few short hours. So, all that’s left for me to say is thank you and I wish you guys all the best for a new and exciting year!
