»’I Will Be Gone’ has the catchiest melody on ‘Aura Nera’ and also the darkest heart. Christian Fuchs wrote it with Medina Rekic of The White Miles and calls it a love song for the age of climate catastrophe. It sounds like a dancefloor but feels like the last night before everything ends.«
Today the track gets a second life. Ashley Dayour (The Devil and The Universe) runs it through a guitar amp and lets it slide into shoegaze. Vienna’s Pola-Riot go for the big Depeche Mode gesture instead. The video is out today as well: nuns and a priest pray against global warming in lurid Dario Argento light, like they don’t have much hope left either.
