HAPPY RELEASE DAY: LAUSCH – Audition
Nobody tells you when the audition starts. You just notice halfway through that you’ve been doing it for a while. In the meeting, at the bakery, at a birthday where you only know the host. You adjust a little, then a little more, and by the evening you’re not quite sure which of those people was actually you. That’s normal. Everyone around you is doing the same thing, and most of them are better at hiding it than they think. LAUSCH spent a long time with this idea before it turned into a song. What came out is three and a half minutes about masks, about who decides which one goes on, and about how seldom that’s us. There’s a chorus you’ll have in your head by tonight, and a last line that doesn’t let you off the hook. If you wanna be different, you gotta look deeper. Audition is out today. Put it on somewhere nobody’s watching.
